Syria Establishing Nuclear Weapons Infrastructure

In a report submitted to the US Congress on the Acquisition of Technology Relating to Weapons of Mass Destruction and Advanced Conventional Munitions, the CIA determined that Syria is establishing an infrastructure to develop nuclear weapons. The report also claims that Syria is developing chemical and biological weapons. It already holds a stockpile of the nerve agent Sarin, but is trying to develop more toxic and potent nerve agents. Syria is also improving its missile range and is continuing to receive help from abroad, primarily from North Korea.

米議会に提出された大量破壊及び高度通常兵器技術取得に関する報告書の中で、米ＣＩＡは、シリアが核兵器開発のためのインフラを確立しつつあるとの見解を発表した。同報告書は、シリアが化学及び生物兵器の開発も進めていると主張した。同国は既にサリンを保有しているが、さらに危険な神経ガスの開発を試みている。また、主に北朝鮮の支援を受け続けながら、ミサイルの射程距離改善も進めている。
